Escrow Agency

An escrow is a tripartite arrangement consisting of two transacting parties and an escrow agent. Philippine Investment Management Account (PIMA) as the escrow agent is primarily responsible for the management and release of the escrowed asset/s relative to the stipulated conditions as provided by the transacting parties in the escrow agreement. Assets held in an escrow may be in the form of cash, real estate properties, and securities, among others.

As escrow agent for the parties involved, we assure our clients that Philippine Investment Management Account acts with utmost impartiality.

A number of escrow arrangements are available to fulfill the varying needs of clients. Among these arrangements are:

Type of Escrow Arrangement Purpose
Buy and Sell To ensure the delivery by the Seller of the property for sale and the payment by the Buyer of a specified sum.
Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB) To comply with the conditions set by the HLURB in granting developers a license to sell.
Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) To comply with the requirements of BIR in order to avail of the 6.00% Capital Gains Tax (CGT).
Philippine Overseas Employment Administration To comply with the requirements of POEA for license applications and renewals.
Customized To accommodate other arrangements specified and agreed upon by the transacting parties.
